Sunsets Alone // An overflowing ❤

Image
March 15th, 2018 - Sunset Alone   Last night I stood gazing up through the palm leaves, mesmerized by the stars in the sky. Tears streaming down my cheeks - a heart overflowing with gratefulness and joy. A small but deep ache in my chest— bittersweet emotions of leaving Maui.   Earlier the sun was setting behind a plump white cloud- gold beams reaching high towards heaven. Sweet honus (turtles) were swimming right in front of me.   I have felt constant provision from God during our entire time here on Maui. Like being held as tiny humans-   safe in the omnipresent warmth of God's big hands.   “In His hand is the life of every creature & the breath of all mankind”   Friendships, growth, joy, love, peace, contentment, change, and a sense of adventure… just to name a few provisions .   I’m thankful to hear the laugh of a child, playing with his father. I’m thankful for a cool evening breeze, after a hot day in the...

A HONU (hoe-new) Experience

“Swim with the current, Be a good navigator, Stay calm under pressure, Be well traveled, Think long term, Age gracefully, Spend time at the beach.”  -Sea Turtle ("Honu") Aloha! We're back! I've never felt so happy on a February 2nd in my entire life, ha! I wake up every day feeling so good here. Some days are better than others obviously, but the air is so warm, the birds are always chirping, and the sun is out EVERY MORNING! Sunrise is at 7am and sunset is just before 7pm. So balanced, and so much light within a day. Life just seems to flow  here - like a cushion of sun, water and clouds cradling you like a baby. Bills aren't as hard to pay, traffic isn't annoying, cockroaches aren't as much of a bother, and biking seven miles into work at 6:00am - I always have a smile on my face :) Speaking of work... An update from the last post: I took neither of the jobs at Grand Wailea. Long story short, I'm working at  Andaz Beach Crew ...

"Maui is unique among the Hawaiian Islands because it's in its prime - young enough to show the dynamism of its volcanic heritage, yet old enough for elements to have carved lovely lines of character onto its face." - Maui Revealed  Since life on the farm, Aaron and I have enjoyed our time here in Maui immensely.  For Christmas Eve, Aaron's dear Grandma Zingerman booked us two nights at one of our favorite hotels, Kaanapali Beach Club. The shower was hot and the water pressure strong, crisp white hotel sheets, a sweeping view of the water and mountains, the scent of sunscreen and faint smells of pool left on my swimsuit and clothes - What a gift!!!  Our friends from the farm, Kristina and MatuΕ‘, joined us on Christmas eve and we made a seafood feast on the BBQ down by the beach. Such a special, fun and unique Christmas. They were SO happy we invited them to stay with us - we were SO happy to have them there. A gift for us all 😊 ...
